I believe every transformation starts with a “from” story—mine began in the Windy City of Chicago, where God took me from brokenness to an impactful Kingdom calling. In the dead of winter, 1994, I hit rock bottom—divorced, despairing, and barely clinging to life. That’s where God found me. But that’s not where He left me. Flat on my back in a bed of affliction, I heard His voice in my wilderness.
That moment didn’t just rescue me.
It rebuilt me.
A holy shift began.
Now, my life’s work is to help others rise from what tried to ruin them. I’ve known the grip of shame that silences your voice, the weight of fear that paralyzes your steps, the drain of doubt that makes you question your worth, and the mental fog that clouds your direction. I’ve lived it—and by the power of God, I’ve walked through it. Today, I help others do the same.

From the Chair to the Calling
Before I became a steward of my call, I was a salon owner—an industry pioneer for over 32 years. I didn’t just build beauty businesses from the ground up—I built people. But even then, it was never just about hair. I was doing heart work under the salon dryer, calling out purpose in the broken in the break room, and helping women and men see themselves through God’s eyes.
That sacred space behind the chair became a training ground for the call ahead. I learned to listen deeper, speak life prophetically, and steward stories with compassion and truth. What began as outer transformation became an invitation to awaken inner healing.
I discovered a new kind of beauty—one that lasts. The type that renews the mind, restores the soul, and reflects the glory of God. That season shaped my sensitivity, sharpened my discernment, and prepared me to lead with power and love.
Today, I’m a licensed and ordained minister, teaching pastor, and the founder of Shift Today Ministries—a movement, a mission, and a gathering place for believers who know there’s more and are ready to move forward. Through sermons, devotionals, digital resources, discipleship, broadcasts, and gatherings like Shift Today with Nina D. Roach, I equip others to live whole, love well, and lead wisely—beyond Sunday.
Faith, Family, and Kingdom Impact
I answered the call to ministry in 1995 and never looked back. Trained under the late Apostle Frederick K.C. Price at the Ministry Training Institute, I continued to deepen my biblical foundations to walk worthy of the assignment. In 2012, what began as Mrs. Ministries—a ministry for wives—evolved into Shift Today Ministries: a prophetic voice to the body of Christ and a safe space for “A Company of Believers.”
Beyond the mic and ministry, I’m married to my bestie, Frank (40 years and counting), proud mom to two amazing sons, and I treasure my two beautiful bonus daughters—rockin' moms to our seven grand-loves. I love skating, hiking, warm cups of tea with a good book, and heart-to-heart conversations with my tight circle of girlfriends. My life isn’t perfect—but it’s proof that God’s grace transforms.
