Some have said that Jesus was John the Baptizer, some said Elijah, some Jeremiah, or one of the other prophets. At Shift Today Ministries we have declared, "Jesus is LORD, the Christ, the Messiah, the Son of the living God." And we want you to not only know Jesus personally, but to experience an authentic, and life-giving relationship with Him that God has invited you to.
From the onset of creation, God created us in His image, making us reflect the essence of His nature. Before sin entered the world that caused humanity to fall, we relied completely upon God and enjoyed our idyllic relationship with Him. The repercussions of sin disturbed our relationship with God and robbed each of us of the opportunity to live completely in "The Blessing" that He originally pronounced upon us.
God loves us so much and desires to relate to us personally—and for us to relate to Him, that He went for the jugular when He sent His own Son—Jesus. He didn’t deal with the issue of sin as something remote and unimportant. In His Son, Jesus, He personally took on the human condition, entered the disordered mess of struggling humanity in order to set it right once and for all.
The 600 plus laws established by Moses to regain our relationship with God failed through our fractured human nature. We could never deliver ourselves from the bondage of sin nor save ourselves from the death penalty for sin. Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man—Adam, and death reigned through sin that separated us from God, just imagine what God’s free gift poured through one man, Jesus Christ, will do! He will help you recover and restore your life back to God's original purpose.
Here it is in a nutshell: Just as one person did it wrong and got us in all this trouble with sin and death, another person did it right and got us out of it. But more than just getting us out of trouble, he got us into life! One man said no to God and put many people in the wrong; one man said yes to God and put many in the right. Romans 5:18-19, The Message
Now God has us where He wants us, with all the time in this world and the next to shower grace and kindness upon us in Christ Jesus. Saving is all his idea, and all his work. All we do is trust him enough to let him do it. It’s God’s gift from start to finish! We don’t play the major role. If we did, we’d probably go around bragging that we’d done the whole thing! No, we neither make nor save ourselves. God does both the making and saving. He creates each of us by Christ Jesus to join Him in the work He does, the good work He has gotten ready for us to do, work we had better be doing. Ephesians 2:8-10, The Message
Are you ready to say yes to God and have your life restored to its original purpose before sin disturbed your relationship with Him? Jesus has already paid the penalty for your sin and made you just right for God. Receiving and experiencing all that God has for you, begins with a personal relationship with Jesus. Scripture reassures us, “Everyone who calls, ‘Help, God!’ gets help.” Romans 10:13, The Message
