Only Grace is Required

God Responds to Grace, Not A Perfect Performance

SCRIPTURE:
Ephesians 2:8-9 ( NASB 1995)
"For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast."
DEVO:
Performance-based faith produces pressure, comparison, and quiet exhaustion. It keeps you measuring, proving, and striving. You are never fully at rest and never quite sure you’ve done enough. When faith is built on performance, results feel fragile. They depend on effort, and peace is always postponed until the next achievement. Grace-based faith produces something entirely different. Grace restores rest, settles identity, and creates confidence that doesn’t fluctuate with performance. When you trust God enough to let Him do the work, faith becomes lighter. Obedience becomes steadier, and fruit becomes sustainable. Performance puts you at the center. Grace puts God back where He belongs. One leads to burnout and distance; the other to intimacy and growth. Alignment happens when you stop trying to earn what was always meant to be received. The result is a faith that works—not because you tried harder, but because you trusted deeper.
PRAYER:
Father God, forgive me for performing where You invited me to experience Your Grace working for my good. Help me not to sabbatoge Your best intentions for my life. In the Name of Jesus. Amen!
