BEGIN AGAIN
Don't Let Yesterday Lead You
“Do not call to mind the former things, Or ponder things of the past. "Behold, I will do something new, Now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I will even make roadway in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert.”

Hey Believer,
Since March, life didn’t exactly check in with me first. Fire. Displacement. Decisions I never saw coming. A move that never made it onto my vision board.
Life has a way of barging in and marking the spot where everything shifted. That’s why Isaiah 43 grabs me—God tells Israel, Remember what I’ve done, but don’t get so stuck on yesterday’s miracles that you miss what I’m doing right now.
The God who made a road across water is just as capable of making a road through the wilderness. Same God. New path.
We get stuck on repeat. Replaying what happened. Worrying about what might be. Letting yesterday start to boss tomorrow around.
A memory can inform you, but it doesn’t get to drive.
Renewing your mind is about deciding who gets a seat at your table. When old thoughts show up, ask: Is there wisdom here, or is it time to let this one go? Then turn your attention to what God is saying: Behold, I will do something new.
God might be planting something new while you’re still staring at the ashes. Maybe it’s a healthier thought. Maybe it’s a boundary you finally needed. Maybe it’s just grace to begin again.
When old thoughts come knocking, don’t hand them the keys and let them move in. Pause. Pray: “Holy Spirit, show me what to remember, what to release, and what to see now.”
Return to Isaiah 43:18–19. Ask: What is God providing right now? What is one faithful thing I can do today? Do that one thing. Take the walk. Send the email. Make the call. Take a nap. Forgive. Say yes or no. Pray. Begin again.
That’s where I am. I’m not trying to rewind to March or chase down what’s already gone. I’m moving forward with God. Faith doesn’t pretend the fire never happened. It just refuses to let the fire write the next chapter.
Jesus still has the final word. He is the Way when we can’t see one, the Truth when we need clarity, and the Life that reminds us there is more ahead.
Pray this with me: Holy Spirit, renew my mind and help me let go of what hinders me. Fix my eyes on Jesus. Reveal the new thing You’re doing in my life, and give me faith for the next step. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
You don’t have to map out the whole road today. Just don’t let yesterday block your view of what God is building ahead.
