SCRIPTURE:
Hebrews 12:1-2 (AMP)
1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of [a]witnesses [who by faith have testified to the truth of God’s absolute faithfulness], stripping off every unnecessary weight and the sin which so easily and cleverly entangles us, let us run with endurance and active persistence the race that is set before us, 2 [looking away from all that will distract us and] focusing our eyes on Jesus, who is the Author and Perfecter of faith [the first incentive for our belief and the One who brings our faith to maturity], who for the joy [of accomplishing the goal] set before Him endured the cross, [b]disregarding the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God [revealing His deity, His authority, and the completion of His work].

DEVO:
Stop. Some believers aren’t losing faith—they’re losing focus. In this culture, everything is competing to become the author of your life: algorithms, opinions, fear, followers, and finances. And when culture writes your script, your faith starts feeling scattered. Hebrews gives one focus-fixing instruction: look away—then look to Jesus.

Jesus isn’t just a teacher of faith; He is the Founder and Finisher of faith—the Originator, Pioneer, and Author. Faith begins with Him, is sustained by His voice, and matures through His finished work. So when your soul feels noisy, the issue is usually not your capacity—it’s your concentration. Faith grows where focus goes.

Noise, Narratives, Numbers—and then more noise. Too many voices defining success. Cultural stories shaping identity. Metrics measuring worth. But faith doesn’t chase the loudest voice; faith returns to the truest Voice. What you focus on in this season, you will go and grow. So fix your gaze on Jesus, and let His Word regain authority in your mind, your emotions, and your decisions.

PRAYER:
Holy Spirit, help me look away from every distraction competing for my attention. Teach me to focus on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of my faith. Silence every voice that tries to define my identity or determine my direction. Help me run my race with endurance, clarity, and grace. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

This week, practice hearing: For the next three days, only hear God's Word. Choose one Scripture that addresses your current problem and listen to it day and night—often. Let the Word become louder than the world. Revisit Joshua 1:8 to stay in your rhythm and flow. Prioritize listening, pondering, and practicing on the promise of God.  Watch how your progress and prosperity begin to expand in your life and leadership.
